Embodied Performance for Poets is an 8-week online intensive designed for poets and writers who want to feel confident when they share their work onstage. Co-facilitated by seasoned performance poets Katya Borkov and Kathryn Rose Rieber, this hybrid class brings your words off of the page and into the body, helping you connect to your authentic voice and to your audience. Each week alternates between: Craft-focused sessions led by a professionally trained ballroom dancer and performance artist (spanning memorization, vocal delivery, physicality and multimedia production), and Grounded space for emotional processing, somatic embodiment techniques, and community connection led by a licensed psychotherapist. Writers will leave with: A deeper relationship to their voice and body Tools for memorization, performance, and presence Personalized feedback to develop one selected poem or written work as a performance A final public showcase in New York City All levels welcome.
