Some of my work has been as a professional creative and some of it is as someone who, since childhood, has loved to explore creativity. For 23 years, I have worked professionally as a multimedia artist and graphic designer. In my amateur pursuits, I have enjoyed a wide range of projects from working in 3D by making folk musical instruments, carvings, jewelry, and assemblage sculpture. In 2D I work in mixed-media, acrylic, charcoal, and digitally. For several years I described myself as a Southern Folk Artist, and at times moniker that still applies, while other of my works have demonstrated more formal training in technique and theory. I am inspired most by urban landscapes, the human figure, mystic symbolism, and Christian iconography.
